Here are some of the outreach activities that Palmetto Presbyterian has been involved with since the summer of 2007 when we first met.

East Cooper Community Outreach
Already a tradition for Palmetto, we have each year provided groceries for a complete Thanksgiving meal for a long list of needy families - making the deliveries ourselves. We also help stock the food bank and help ECCO in other ways.

Haiti Micro-Finance Project
Palmetto is part of the Charleston Atlantic Presbytery, which has long had a special relationship with several ministries in Haiti. Teams visit Haiti twice each year, and one of the most exciting new ministries is the women's micro-finance project.

Hands of Christ
A Charleston-based organization, Hands of Christ has for six years served children in need by helping them one-on-one "shop" for school supplies and uniforms at distribution centers held in churches. In 2008, this ministry of the Charleston Atlantic Presbytery helped more than three thousand kids.

Habitat for Humanity
Palmetto joined forces with Mount Pleasant Presbyterian to build a Habitat House that was dedicated February, 2009. The Palmetto Men's group helped Habitat complete the interior of its new store and warehouse on Long Point Road.

Crisis Ministries
We have helped this important ministry in downtown Charleston by staffing the soup kitchen and providing food.
