“The Lord will fight for you; you only need to be still.” Exodus 14:14
How many times we pray and ask our God for His change. A healing, a better job, our marriages to be stronger –and to listen to each other, our loved ones to be safe, peace with a loss of a loved one, and many, many more cries to Him. Are we also asking not only for the magic of the healing, but to be surrounded by God’s peace in any situation. Any situation. for His peace? Any situation. There is a reason for there to be a calm, in the midst of a hurricane.
We ask, and then fret. When we continue fretting about the situation, are we trying to have the control? We know that He hears, and is waiting to hear our requests. He is also waiting for our trust.
My cry to prayer–is seeing me with my back against a wall, and knowing that I can turn to Him–in trust . . . for peace . . . to calm my fears.
As You hear my cries to You, I pray for me to trust that Your way and Your answers are good. Your answers give peace. Open my wringing hands and give me the calm that comes in the midst of my large and small hurricanes in my life. Help me to not forget to ask this Lenten season to trust You, and to be still in Your answer. Let me know always that the fight is not mine.
In Jesus name, God’s peace.
