“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord ALL ye lands. Come before his presence with singing.”
While every member of the congregation should be active participants in worship and in the music of worship, some are called to be more involved.
The Sanctuary Choir leads our expressions of praise and adoration in our 10:30AM Sunday worship. They strive to present an eclectic variety of music from classical to contemporary. This choir is open to all from high school age to seniors. No audition is required! The only requirements are a desire to make a joyful noise, to lead in worship, to commit to faithful service in worship services and rehearsals, and, of course, some ability to sing on pitch. We have strong leaders in each choir section, so you do not have to be a trained singer to participate in choir. We also use many resources to assist members in learning the music in addition to our weekly rehearsals. Rehearsals are held Thursdays, 7:00 – 8:30 PM. Childcare is available with advance notice. Special Services: The Sanctuary Choir also leads in many special services throughout the year, including Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Easter, Christmas Cantata and Christmas Eve. Our Maundy Thursday service has become one of the most anticipated worship experiences of the year with powerful music that leads to a reflection of our Savior’s love and sacrifice for us. If full time commitment to the Sanctuary Choir is not an option, we do invite those with a joy to sing to join us in preparation times leading up to our Christmas and Easter services.
Handbell Choir: We are blessed to have a 3 octave set of Shulmerich handbells and a 3 octave set of chimes. While some ability to read music is helpful, it is not required. A strong commitment to regular attendance is necessary as each individual bell is an important part of each composition. This group meets on Wednesdays from 6:00 – 7:00PM.
