Thanksgiving in August

Thanksgiving in August

We have all heard about “Christmas in July,” but this year at Palmetto I think we should call this month “Thanksgiving in August” because we have been blessed by YOUR  generosity and involvement in so many missions, faith formation and worship experiences:

  • A generous member has donated the funding for a nursery coordinator. If you or someone you know might be good for this position, please speak with Tricia.
  • We rocked helping with Hands of Christ this past weekend. The youth made the meals to feed the 60 volunteers Friday night and the Amazing grays provided the lunch Saturday for the volunteers. Plus we worked both days providing clothing and school supplies for over 300 children in need.
  • The Christian Education Team did a super job planning our second Second Sunday worship and fellowship event yesterday. What a fun day for folks of all ages.
  • Books, books, books . . . you have no idea how many books we collected for Hands of Christ. WOW . . . we had over 500 books that will enable children to spend time reading at home.
  • We are working on our BACK-2-SCHOOL PRAYER set for next Monday morning as students return to school. Join us here at 7:00 a.m. as we provide juice, donuts and coffee for the parents of Carolina Park School and have a prayer for the new school year.

The month is still young, so think of ways YOU can participate in “Thanksgiving in August.”

It is a joy to be your pastor,
