Amy Lynch

Director of Faith Formation

Amy is a new transplant to South Carolina. Originally from Massachusetts, she grew up attending Newton Presbyterian Church in the metro west area of Boston. She loved the hymns, giant pipe organ and was even in the handbell choir, and it was there that she first began serving. Amy was active in the youth group and recognized the needs in the city and spent time working in homeless shelters and soup kitchens, as well as teaching in the Sunday School and VBS.

Amy went on to study psychology and theology at Notre Dame College and not long after graduation she married her high school sweetheart Dave at Newton Presbyterian in 2001. After they welcomed their first child, they moved to 30 miles south of Boston and found a new church home. North River Community Church is where they raised their family and Amy was called to full-time ministry. Joining the staff in 2016, Amy served as a Pastor of Children’s Ministry, which included leading Sunday School, countless VBS camps, Women’s Bible Studies, and leading in the Student Ministries.

Amy and Dave are blessed with 2 sons, Alec and Aidan, as well as 2 very spoiled dogs! After too many harsh winters, they finally fulfilled their dream and moved to Charleston. Amy is passionate about teaching, serving and discipling kids, and helping them learn who they are in Christ.
