ASP High School Mission Trip

Appalachia, Virginia | July 14-20. 2024

Youth: Lainey Cormack, Katie Deeter, Caroline Ferrara, Michael Ferrara, Claire Lafortune, Connor Ramsay, Sara Ramsay, Jada Reeves, Sylvi Wright

We spent a week in Wise County, Virginia, at the ASP Center, formally the old Appalachia High School, as our home base. PPC had two work crews that went to two individual work sites each day. We caulked windows, prepped and primed a roof, redid stairs and stair rails for a porch, made a gate and prepped and primed for underpinning to be installed, to name just some of the projects we did. Rain hampered our work several times throughout the week, but the youth and leaders did not give up.

We also celebrated three birthdays while we were there - there was lots of ice cream! Both work sites had chickens and dogs to break up the day.
